Reporting to the Founder and CEO, the appointee will be responsible for all sales and business development of the company allowing the CEO and senior team to consider and drive further strategic developments.  In addition to the building and delivery of the sales pipeline through collaborative working in developing strong relationships with existing, new and potential clients, the appointee will enjoy line-management responsibility for the development and leadership of the commercial team, which will require planned growth.  The ideal candidate will have experience of selling B2B services, an understanding of the commercialisation of technical products and services, be able to work comfortably and effectively across all levels of both large and small SME organisations and have a clear understanding of the need to build long-term relationships.  This is a senior, influential and highly significant appointment for the company and the right individual will enjoy the opportunity to contribute to the overall long-term development of the wider business.  As such, cultural fit is of paramount importance, as will be a proactive, entrepreneurial and balanced approach to ensure delivery of the company’s aspirations.

Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level or equivalent, will have demonstrable and successful track record in the development and leadership of a B2B sales and business development team within commercial services, along with strategic thinking, strong teamwork, a high level of integrity and a desire to grow strong relationships both internally and externally.  Experienced in SME scale-up, along with the development, winning and successful closure of new business opportunities, the appointee will demonstrate drive, tenacity, ‘presence’, maturity, confidence, humility and strong financial awareness.  Listening, influencing and negotiation will all be key competencies along with exemplary communication & presentation skills; a combination of which will enable success to be rewarded by potential involvement in the direction, aspiration and ownership of the business.
