Reporting to the Director of Nexus, University of Leeds, the successful candidate will offer a sectorial emphasis on the support and development of HealthTech businesses, whilst providing high-level strategic direction, advice, and expertise across the Nexus’s community to enhance and drive collaboration with the University and the Region.  Leading the collaboration strategy for high growth potential businesses, and translating needs into academic opportunities, the individual will lead and execute cross-sector, relationship-driven strategy for Nexus ensuring that the community works with the businesses which can offer the biggest value for the University and the wider region.  This is a senior and influential role, and the right individual will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall long-term development of the wider Nexus business.

 

Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level or a higher degree in a science/technical discipline, with demonstrable experience of managing a portfolio of collaborative R&D projects and demonstrable knowledge of the HealthTech sector, will offer a broad understanding of innovation processes, be skilled at working at the Public/Private interface and possess exceptional people skills.  Experienced in team leadership, the successful candidate will demonstrate drive, tenacity and excellent financial awareness coupled with exemplary communication & presentation skills.  Listening, influencing and sound judgement will all be key competencies along with high levels of integrity, a desire to build strong relationships both internally and externally and a positive, enthusiastic outlook which will engage others.
