This is an excellent opportunity for commercially strong, experienced individuals with sound financial understanding to join our client’s new Housing Development Company.  Established to build and sell houses throughout our client’s diverse region, the company will initially focus on the commercial development of 3 identified sites before exploring further opportunities throughout the area.  The overall remit of the organisation is to deliver an increase in land value and produce a strong financial return from the specific building projects whilst generating a fair market return on working capital.  Publicly owned, the company has ambitious plans for further growth, which will require commercial leadership, strategic thinking, strong collaboration and the building of significant relationships throughout the supply chain and with key stakeholders.

There is opportunity for three Non-Executive Directors (NED) to join the newly formed Executive Board of four experienced individuals, and it is envisaged that one NED will become Chair of the Board within 9-12 months.  The appointees will bring knowledge and experience of key areas of the property development sector through financial awareness, commercial development and supply chain management along with the capability to influence future direction through strong networks, market knowledge and legal understanding.  Previous experience will enable the NEDs to advise and guide the Board to effectively calculate and consider risk, problem solve and create innovative plans and solutions to ensure financial return, whilst ensuring that the company retains the support of key stakeholders.  Ideal candidates, having previous experience of the Housing market, will be able to work comfortably and effectively across this multi-stakeholder organisation to ensure exemplary governance, demonstrate strong cultural fit to mentor and counsel the Executive and be analytical, decisive and enthusiastic about performance setting, monitoring and delivery. As Innovators they will be excited by;

Individuals with relevant level background, experience and qualifications, will have demonstrable and successful track records in the development and influencing of senior individuals, along with strategic thinking, strong teamwork, a high level of integrity and a desire to build strong relationships both internally and externally.  Experienced in developing robust policy and plans, the appointees will be able to develop and demonstrate real passion for this region, provide drive, tenacity, ‘presence’, maturity, confidence and humility coupled with exemplary communication & presentation skills.  Listening, influencing and negotiation will all be key competencies along with a positive, enthusiastic outlook which will engage others to deliver exceptional results.
